报告主题：Localisation with Mobile Phone Measurements: from Traditional to Data-Driven Techniques

内容简介：In this talk, he will present his PhD student’s recent work on using GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) measurements from mobile phones to determine users’ locations. Unlike dedicated GNSS receivers, mobile phones are low-cost and also integrated with other sensors, such as UWB, Camera, and IMU. Thus, mobile phones provide a convenient platform to develop various outdoor or indoor location-based applications which require accurate user location. In the first part of this talk, he will first review the fundamentals of localisation using GNSS measurements. Mobile phone measurements are of lower quality compare with dedicated GNSS receivers, and hence filtering techniques are also commonly employed. In the second part of the talk, he will describe how we combine traditional and data-driven approach to achieve better position accuracy. Lastly, he will describe a tool we developed to help investigate measurements from iPhone for relative localisation applications, e.g. multiuser virtual games.
